Through Mindful Movement groups, you will learn to naturally listen and attune to your body’s messages, signals and cues. As an intimate relationship with your body unfolds, so too, will your body’s intuitive wisdom; allowing you to access your senses, emotions, beliefs, hopes, needs and desires. As you feel more at home in your body self-love and acceptance will blossom and patterns of self-care will emerge.
You will discover a moving meditation that will reduce mental chatter and judgment, bringing you into the present moment for a richer more joyful life dance.
In hour long sessions you and your body will experience the freedom to breathe, shake, wiggle, stretch, dance, move and embrace stillness. You and your body can move on your feet, on the floor or in a chair with eyes open or closed. When a movement or movement pattern emerges organically from your body or one of the other movers, you can play, change, repeat or join another’s dance as you gain comfort in seeing and being seen just as you are. The movements are opportunities to listen to your body and massage her from the inside out as you seek pleasure and joy while maintaining awareness of any pain or discomfort. Your dance becomes an improvisation and metaphor for life’s dilemmas and solutions; a source of inspiration, reconciliation, and healing.
Robin, Mindful Movement and the other movers create a safe space for you to explore your body’s natural movements as well as creative and healing expression.
You cannot make a mistake.
The women you will meet are friendly, supportive and kind. In addition to local Ann Arborites, we have women from Ypsilanti, Saline, Dexter, Pinckney, Canton, Novi and Northville.
These Mindful Movement classes are informed and inspired by authentic movement, Gabrielle Roth’s 5 Rhythms™, mindfulness, and the Nia™ Technique, in which Robin progressed through 3 levels of training. Robin has no professional technical dance training. She enjoys movement and being in her body and has a capacity for guiding other women to discover greater pleasure, freedom and self-confidence in their bodies.
We look forward to your arrival and will meet you just where you are with open hearts.
